, despite Republicans’ efforts to make us think otherwise, Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court puts abortion rights and access in grave danger. Donald Trump said it himself during a presidential debate: if he puts two or three justices on the Court, Roe v. Wade will “automatically” be overturned because he would only appoint “pro-life” justices—and Brett Kavanaugh makes two. Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court appointment is dire, but we can’t give up hope yet. Last year, people just like you shared personal health care stories that helped stop Trump and Republicans from overturning the Affordable Care Act. (Key swing senators Collins and Murkowski credited their decision to save the ACA to the stories they heard from constituents.) Now, we can do the same thing to save Roe v. Wade and block Kavanaugh from ever reaching the Supreme Court bench. [If you have an abortion story, click here to write a letter to your U.S. senators to tell them why defending Roe is so critical.]( [Share your ABORTION story]( [If you don’t have an abortion story to share, click here to write a letter to your senators to tell them why defending health care in general is crucial.]( [Share your HEALTH CARE story]( Donna McNeil, a Maine arts administrator, [shared her pre-Roe abortion story]( as part of a 2017 storytelling event. Her experience is even more poignant now, as she recalls being blindfolded and taken to a secret location by doctors and advocates who risked their lives so she could access abortion in a time when it was illegal. Sharing your story can make a difference. You can show your senators exactly who and what they’re fighting for—and the critical, urgent need to protect Roe v. Wade at all costs. We cannot go back to the world Donna described in her story. If you have an abortion story but aren’t sure what to share, here are some prompts: Have you had to terminate a pregnancy due to health concerns? Were you able to access an abortion when you needed one? Are there abortion restrictions in your state, and if so, how might those barriers worsen if Roe is overturned? What impact has the ability to access abortion care had on your life? [Send your abortion story to your senators now and urge them to reject Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court.]( [Share your ABORTION story]( [Alternatively, click here to send your health care story to your senators.]( [Share your HEALTH CARE story]( Please note: The letter forms on this action are blank. Unless you write custom notes and subject lines, blank notes will be sent to your U.S. senators. Please don’t do that. Your stories will go directly to your U.S. senators’ offices. They are not public for the Daily Kos community, and we will not be publishing anything you send. If you do want to share your abortion story publicly, please consider writing a Daily Kos community diary like [this one](.
