, [sign and send a petition to Senate Democrats: Block or slow down all Trump nominations](. [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( Yesterday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced that he would cancel the August recess. McConnell wants us to think he’s keeping Democrats in Washington D.C. all summer so the Senate can pass appropriations bills and confirm more of Trump’s dangerous nominees, but the real reason he cancelled the recess is reprehensible. Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn admitted that Republicans are cancelling the recess to put pressure on Democratic Senators running for reelection. If Democrats are in D.C. all summer, their Republican rivals could have an easier time campaigning against them at home. [Mitch McConnell and his crew of immoral Republicans should be ashamed. Sign and send the petition to your Democratic Senator calling on them to continue to slow down all Trump nominations—no matter what McConnell tries to do.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( McConnell’s move to cancel the recess could put Democrats in a tight spot—at first glance, it looks like they can either continue to block confirmations or have to stop that work in order to let colleagues campaign. Thankfully, Senate Democrats who are not up for election can make both happen. For low-level confirmations, Democrats only need one Senator to object and slow things down, which opens up room for colleagues to campaign at home in red states. You have a Democratic U.S. Senator who is not up for reelection, and needs our help now.  [Sign and send a petition to your Democratic U.S. Senator now and urge them to slow down Senate business, stop Trump’s nominees, and take pressure off of colleagues running for reelection.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( In solidarity, Sarah Hogg, Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
