Friend, we are closer than ever before in winning early voting in New York. This is a crucial week in this fight and we need your help to push us to victory. Both Governor Cuomo and the State Assembly included funding for early voting in their budget proposals, but the Republican-controlled State Senate is holding out. The fate of early voting will be decided this week while our state representatives meet in Albany to finalize the state budget. Not only do we need Governor Cuomo to stand firm in these negotiations, but we also need State Senator Jeff Klein -- chair of the Independent Democratic Conference -- to rally more support for early voting in the Senate. Call Governor Cuomo at 518-474-8390 and State Senator Jeff Klein at 518-455-3595. Tell them not to come home until they have fully funded 14 days of early voting in the state budget. When you get an aide or voicemail, leave this message: My name is SAY YOUR NAME from zip code 10016 in New York. New York has one of the country's worst voter turnout rates, but that could change if we adopt and fully fund early voting. Please fully funding for 14 days of early voting in the New York state budget. [After you complete your calls, please click here to tell us how they went. We are keeping a tally of the phone calls made by the Daily Kos community.]( [Can't call? Busy signal? New Yorkers will be able to cast their ballots on days that are convenient for them and not be forced to choose between work, family, and voting. We’ve made a ton of progress this year — and we have one week left to drive this victory home. Call Governor Cuomo at 518-474-8390 and State Senator Jeff Klein at 518-455-3595.
