Friend, I wrote a year ago today about the hard path forward with Trump entering the White House. I said that I started Daily Kos in 2002 as a voice of resistance to a dangerous and war-crazed administration, and that we once again faced that kind of challenge. Turns out, nothing from the Bush years could have prepared us for this. I admit it. Donald Trump's first year in office was crazier than I could have ever imagined. He defended Nazis in Charlottesville. He engaged in nuclear brinkmanship on Twitter. He fired James Comey to try and bury the investigation into Russia’s meddling in our election (and keep his friends and family out of prison). He's tearing immigrant families apart to appease the racist deplorables who elected him. He’s directed government funds to his own hotels and businesses at every opportunity. Worse of all is that, through it all, traditional media outlets continued to normalize his conflicts of interest, erratic behavior, and stunning ignorance of the issues and his own government's policies. We're less than 10 months from the election and I promise you this: Daily Kos will spend each and every day working to resist Trump and elect Democrats so we can finally, finally hold the racist wannabe dictator in the White House accountable.
