Congress can help close the gap in nutrition for seniors. Friend, High grocery prices, increased costs for housing, health care and other necessities, and the expiration of pandemic-era benefits mean seniors with low or fixed incomes across the country are paying more for the food they need on top of paying other bills, and doing so with less resources. The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) provides seniors with healthy foods through monthly food boxes. But this program can only serve as many seniors as funding provides.
