Friend, The passed Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act by House Republicans aims to ban nonciti

Friend,[sign and send the petition: The Senate must reject the SAVE Act.]( Sign and send the petition]( The [recently]( passed Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act by House Republicans aims to ban noncitizens from voting in federal elections—this is a redundant and dangerous measure since it is already illegal for noncitizens to vote. This bill will introduce additional hurdles, which are likely to [disproportionately]( affect marginalized communities, including many minority voters. The SAVE Act seeks to impose stringent proof-of-citizenship requirements and voter roll purges which could disenfranchise legitimate voters. These provisions will make it significantly harder for U.S. citizens, particularly those from marginalized communities, to register and vote. Past implementations of similar laws have led to eligible voters being [wrongly purged]( from voter rolls. [Sign and send the petition: Defend voting rights from the SAVE Act.]( Sign and send the petition]( The true intent behind the SAVE Act is to [suppress]( the votes of communities of color and undermine the electoral process. By creating unnecessary hurdles for voter registration and implementing aggressive voter roll purges, this legislation will disproportionately impact Latino, Black, and other minority voters. Far from safeguarding voter eligibility, this legislation endangers the democratic principle of equal access to the ballot box. We demand the Senate to reject the SAVE Act. This bill is not about protecting election integrity but about disenfranchising voters and perpetuating harmful and false rhetoric about noncitizen voting. Instead, Congress must focus on meaningful legislation that truly safeguards our freedom to vote, such as the Freedom to Vote Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act.
