Friend, I was ANGRY when the Supreme Court handed down its decision to give Trump sweeping immunity.

Friend, I was ANGRY when the Supreme Court handed down its decision to give Trump sweeping immunity. And apparently a lot of you were too because the email I sent (copied below) got one of the biggest reactions we've seen in a long, long time. That's good because we need Democrats to be fired up heading into this election. [The right-wing supermajority on the Supreme Court refused to hold Donald Trump accountable. The only people who can hold him accountable now is us. That's why I'm asking one more time: Can you please donate $20.24 right now to help offset the cost of our Get Out The Vote campaign this fall? Daily Kos is working to recruit 100,000 volunteers in key states, and we need your help to do it.]( [PLEASE DONATE]( [I understand if $20.24 is too much, so you can click here to donate less.]( Thank you again, Michael Langenmayr, Daily Kos P.S. If you've already donated, [please click here to join one of our Get Out The Vote campaigns! We're writing postcards to Democrats who don't vote in every election to remind them to get to the polls this fall. These reminders may seem small, but they are super effective!]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Friend, today the right-wing supermajority on the Supreme Court declared that presidents have sweeping immunity from prosecution. As Justice Sonia Sotomayor bleakly [described]( the majority opinion: "In every use of official power, the President is now a king above the law." Considering that Donald Trump, who has repeatedly called for [Hillary Clinton to be jailed]( and suggested that retired General Mark Milley should be [executed](, the Supreme Court has just rolled out the red carpet for a Trump dictatorship. The only thing standing in Trump's way is us. That's why I'm writing to you today. The Supreme Court failed to hold Donald Trump accountable for his actions. Our only recourse is to hold him accountable at the ballot box. That means we NEED to get out every possible Democratic voter in November. Daily Kos is doing its part. [Daily Kos has a plan to recruit 100,000 volunteers to help Get Out The Vote, and we've already got more than 15,000 volunteer shifts filled. This isn't easy work—and it's not cheap either. It's a major cost at a time when news outlets and activist groups are hurting. That's why I'm asking you to donate $20.24 right now to help offset the cost of this campaign and beat Trump in November.]( [PLEASE DONATE]( [Is $20.24 too much? Even a donation of just $5 will help. Click here to donate whatever you can now.]( Thank you, Michael Langenmayr, Daily Kos P.S. If you can't afford to donate anything at all, we can still use your help. [Click here to sign up to write postcards to drop-off Democratic voters—that is, voters who typically vote Democratic, but who don't vote in every election—and remind them of the importance of voting this year!]( If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
