Friend, Daily Kos writer [Kerry Eleveld](recently pointed out that Republicans have two distinct media advantages as we head into the November election: - The massive right-wing propaganda machine that creates and amplifies disinformation - A presidential candidate so flawed and broken that his outrageous behavior has become normalized that it barely registers with corporate media [Daily Kos is the country's largest progressive news and activism hub, but we are dwarfed by the right-wing media infrastructure. As 2024 unfolds, with the critical upcoming elections and the fate of our democracy on the line, it is more important than ever that Daily Kos doesn't just survive, but that we thrive. Please donate $5 to Daily Kos.]( [PLEASE DONATE]( Not convinced? That is exactly what happened Thursday evening: The right-wing media propaganda machine was in overdrive after a jury of his peers found Trump guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records.[Fox News, OAN, Newsmax, Steve Bannon, Laura Ingraham]( and so many right-wing talking heads all doubled down on Trump's rhetoric about the "so-called" "rigged" "third-world" "disgraceful" trial and verdict. The big problem is that Fox News is the most-watched cable news network in the country. They have been the highest-rated cable news network for two decades and have a huge reach and influence over the American population. Unlike so many other news outlets that are struggling to make ends meet because of shrinking advertising revenue, Fox News continues to thrive. They have been affected by declining advertising revenue, but that's not where most of their revenue comes from—it comes from cable fees. Fox News rakes in [billions of dollars]( in these fees that everyone who pays for cable contributes to. As we approach the 2024 elections, it's more important than ever that progressive news like Daily Kos doesn't just survive, but that we thrive. [Daily Kos is one of the biggest progressive news outlets in the country, but we need to be much, much bigger in order to more effectively inform voters about the truth. That's why I'm asking you to donate $5 to Daily Kos.]( [PLEASE DONATE]( Thank you for all you do, Amanda McKay, Daily Kos If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
