Friend, Daily Kos is the country's first and only participatory, grassroots-funded, news and activism hub—but does that actually mean? Our mission at Daily Kos is to deliver the progressive news, fight for democracy by giving our audience information, provide resources to win elections and impact the government. [We sit at the crossroads of advocacy and delivering the news—no other organization or news outlet does the work we do. Can you support Daily Kos and our work with a monthly donation of $5?]( [If you can't make a monthly contribution, please consider making a one-time donation to support the work Daily Kos does every day.]( Unfortunately, we have been financially struggling for a couple years now. We aren't alone, news organizations have been [hammered]( by declining revenue, resulting in mass layoffs and even some outlets shutting down. At the same time, [financial hardships]( have dragged down the work of progressive advocacy organizations. Over the past couple of years, many advocacy organizations have been forced to make drastic budgets that have greatly impacted their work. Just like news outlets, Daily Kos relies in part on advertising revenue to pay our bills and, just like advocacy organizations, we rely mostly on grassroots donations to power our work. The problem is that both advertising revenue and small-dollar fundraising are declining. Daily Kos has missed our past two monthly fundraising goals. This puts our future election work at jeopardy. Without proper funding resources, it will be harder for us to protect our democracy and turn out Democratic voters in 2024. We need a strong and independent news media to provide the public with prudent information about the elections. We need robust advocacy organizations to help educate, mobilize and turnout Democratic voters. [Daily Kos is the country's largest news and activism hub, but we are not immune to the financial hardships that have plagued both news outlets and progressive advocacy organizations. In order to survive and keep fighting, we need your help. Can you support Daily Kos and our work with a monthly donation of $5?]( [If you can't make a monthly contribution, please consider making a one-time donation to support the work Daily Kos does every day.]( Thank you for all you do, Amanda McKay, Daily Kos If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
