Friend, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s lawsuit against Daily Kos has cost us hundreds of thousands of dolla

Friend, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s lawsuit against Daily Kos has cost us hundreds of thousands of dollars since 2021. If you've been following the state of the news media, then you know this has been an enormous cost to us at a time when we can least afford it. News outlets are under [severe financial pressure](. Regardless of whether they're print, broadcast or online, outlets big and small are feeling the pinch, and Daily Kos is no different. Kennedy's frivolous suit has cost us big, and that's why we're fighting him now that he wants it dismissed. It may cost us a bit more now, but we want him to pay back everything he cost us since this fight began. Every. Single. Penny. [Please stand with Daily Kos and help make Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pay: Donate $5 now so we can fight to recoup what this frivolous suit has cost us.]( [PLEASE DONATE]( Thank you again, Michael Langenmayr, Daily Kos P.S. I've included Markos' email on this from earlier in the week in case you missed it: --------------------------------------------------------------- Friend, almost three years ago, I [first wrote]( about the lawsuit that anti-vaxxer and presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was bringing against Daily Kos to try to force us to unmask a pseudonymous member of our community. We fought this frivolous suit in courts in two different states and through appeals. Now, Kennedy just wants it all to go away. Well, screw that. Kennedy might have a vast family fortune upon which he can draw, but we don't, and this suit has been a major financial burden for Daily Kos at a time when news outlets are [seriously hurting](. That's why we're fighting Kennedy's attempts to dismiss the suit to try and recover attorneys' fees. That means we'll need to spend more now to recover what he's already forced us to spend. [Make Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pay for the frivolous lawsuit he brought against Daily Kos—literally! Donate $5 right now so we can continue this fight in court and recoup the costs of this nearly three-year legal battle.]( [PLEASE DONATE]( Kennedy's original suit stemmed from a story that a Daily Kos community member posted, which was a translation of a German news story about a rally at which Kennedy appeared in Germany alongside right-wing extremist groups like the AfD party, the neo-Nazi NPD party, and other anti-Semitic groups. CBS News, the New York Times, and Reuters all ran similar stories saying the event was organized by right-wing extremists. Kennedy didn't sue these outlets, though. He sued us. Kennedy may have thought Daily Kos was an easy target. We're a small, independent outlet. We don't have the resources that the New York Times has, and so perhaps he thought we'd roll over and give him what he wanted. He was dead wrong. We fought him every step of the way and he failed, and now he should pay back every dime he cost us. [This fight has cost us hundreds of thousands of dollars, and this is our chance to recoup that. Please stand with us in this fight. Please support Daily Kos in this with a donation of $5 today.]( [PLEASE DONATE]( Thank you, Markos Moulitsas, Founder Daily Kos If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
