Dear fellow conservative, At no time in our nation’s history have faith, family, and freedom been under such unrelenting assault. [DCLogoAlphaSmall] A message from our sponsor [Image]( Dear fellow conservative, At no time in our nation’s history have faith, family, and freedom been under such unrelenting assault. Anti-Christian zealots, though small in number, were emboldened by former President Barack Obama’s pattern: a relentless and all-out assault on biblical values. And many of those zealots remain in all corners of our government, where they continue their assault on our values and our freedom to believe -- even years after Barack Obama left office! Perhaps most shocking of all, they’re continuing a quiet but deliberate assault on the religious liberties of the courageous men and women in our military! [But you can help me root out these “Deep State” Obama holdovers -- unelected bureaucrats with radical progressive agendas -- by signing this letter to tell President Trump and Congress to stop the persecution of Christians serving our U.S. military!]( [Sign the Letter]( You probably remember that it was Obama’s Defense Secretary Ash Carter who announced, just as President Obama was leaving office, that the longstanding prohibition on those who identify as transgender from serving in the military was lifted. That move alone placed Christian chaplains and other military service members in an extremely vulnerable position. They were often forced to choose between serving their country or remaining faithful to their biblical convictions -- a decision no one should have to make. But it was just the beginning. Consider the other effects of the “Deep State’s” assault on religious liberty in our military… - Bibles were temporarily banned from being given to wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. - Reverend Franklin Graham was banned from speaking at the National Day of Prayer at the Pentagon. - A display of the honor oath was removed from the U.S. Air Force Academy because the oath said, “So help me God.” - Some U.S. Army trainers warned soldiers not to associate with evangelical Christian groups—equating evangelical Christians with radical Muslim jihadists. - The Air Force Academy censored cadets in leadership from writing Bible verses on their own personal dormitory memo boards hung on their doors. We MUST stop these events from happening ever again and root out the deep state holdovers who continue chipping away at the religious freedom of our men and women in uniform! [Please help today by signing this national letter to our president!]( Family Research Council (FRC) will deliver your letter to President Trump, the House Armed Services Committee Chairman, and the Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman. When FRC delivers your letter and those of thousands of others, it will get the attention of the press, and we will of course be attacked by the ACLU, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and many other leftist organizations. But we’ve withstood these types of blistering assaults before—and today is no different. The liberal media and leftist organizations know that FRC is headquartered just blocks from the White House and Capitol Hill, and they know we have a dedicated staff working to protect the freedom and values you enjoy as an American. And they know when we take on an issue we believe in—like religious freedom and protecting our troops—we do not back down, we will never surrender in our defense of our fundamental freedoms. You will never find a white flag flying at the headquarters of Family Research Council! [That’s why I hope we can count on your support of Christians in the military today.]( If the Left can force freedom of belief out of the U.S. military, then it will be easier to eliminate religious freedom in your community, workplace, and local schools. That’s because religion has been a central part of the armed forces since George Washington insisted on it during the American Revolution. If that comes to an end . . . if open Christianity is persecuted and driven out of the military . . . it can be persecuted and driven out of our entire society. We must stop this from happening. [And that starts with your signature on this letter to President Trump and congressional leaders.]( [Sign the Letter]( Standing (Eph. 6:13), Tony Perkins President, Family Research Council This email was sent to {EMAIL}.
