This week, Kamala Harris tapped Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate. Despite his so-called "folksy demeanor" — a bogus[propaganda word cooked up by liberal media]( — Walz is a vindictive left-winger, as confirmed by his record as governor. To wit, Walz started a COVID hotline that Minnesotans used to snitch on neighbors who weren't following his draconian lockdown measures. Even worse, Walz has repeatedly lied about his military service during Operation Enduring Freedom in the early 2000s. Read on to find out more. In this Week’s Newsletter … - Real Big News: Walz the radical coward… - Hot Off The Press: Trump challenges Kamala... - For The Record: Media whitewashes Walz... If you love reading the Daily Caller, [please consider joining us today.]( REAL BIG NEWS Stephen Maturen / Stringer / Getty So who is the real Tim Walz? The Daily Caller's Gage Klipper[has the answer]( To start, he's the governor who watched Minnesota fall under the boot of BLM and Antifa in the summer of 2020. Minneapolis was ground zero of the George Floyd riots. In the end, over 1,500 businesses and buildings burned in the state, including a Minneapolis police station, resulting in $500 million in property damage. What did Governor Walz do? He waited days before sending in the National Guard to quell the violence. Two days after Floyd died, Minneapolis was in the grips of violent mobs, and even the soy-boy liberal Mayor Jacob Frey requested his governor's help to contain the riots. Waltz waited a whole extra day before signing an executive order to send the Guardsmen Frey requested. On immigration, Walz is just as bad. He made his support for sanctuary policies abundantly clear when he first ran for governor. “The role of law enforcement is to enforce state and local laws, not federal immigration laws, and I strongly believe that they should not do so," he said in 2018. Once elected, he took this to the extreme, signing legislation into law that granted state-funded healthcare and free college tuition to illegal immigrants. He also signed a law allowing illegal immigrants to get state driver's licenses. So much for strict voter ID if illegals have driver's licenses too. Then, of course, we get to the gender insanity. Walz is a strong supporter of "gender affirming care" — the euphemism the left uses to make child sex change surgeries and chemical castrations sound warm and fuzzy. He enshrined this grisly euphemism into law with an Executive Order in 2023, which effectively made Minnesota a sanctuary state for children fleeing red states to get sex changes against their parents' wishes. Under the order, state agencies cannot help states “seeking to penalize” such procedures or arrest individuals charged with violating out-of-state laws regarding sex change treatments. And what about Walz's "stolen valor?” Walz has claimed he was a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan (the official name of the U.S. government's war in Afghanistan). However, he was never deployed to Afghanistan. He was never on the ground there, fighting in the War on Terror. Instead, Walz was stationed in Italy and worked in Norway assisting NATO forces. He also told NPR in 2018 that he never saw combat. Worse yet, retired Command Sergeants Major Thomas Behrends and Paul Herr, two veterans who say they served in Walz's battalion,[wrote a letter]( in 2018 accusing the Minnesota governor of "betraying his country" by allowing the remainder of the battalion to be deployed to Iraq without him. "On May 16th, 2005, [Walz] quit, betraying his country, leaving the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion and its Soldiers hanging; without its senior Non-Commissioned Officer, as the battalion prepared for war," Behrends and Herr wrote at the time. Pretty damning stuff. The Trump campaign should have a field day with this one ... HOT OFF THE PRESS Joe Raedle / Staff / Getty Trump Puts Ball In Kamala’s Court: During an unexpected press conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday, Trump [said he agreed]( to three debate dates with Fox News, ABC News and NBC News. “I think it is very important to have debates and we’ve agreed with Fox on a date of Sept. 4, we’ve agreed with NBC, fairly full agreement, subject to them, on Sept. 10 and we’ve agreed with ABC on Sept. 25. So we have those three dates, those networks, they’re very anxiously awaiting that date and those dates,” the former president said. Another Military Debacle: There was another botched military operation under Joe Biden's watch, this time in Africa. The Pentagon[announced]( Monday that it had finished withdrawing U.S. forces from a $110 million military base in Niger, Africa, as the nation's ruling regime takes over. Niger's Air Base 201 previously hosted hundreds of U.S. troops who have now evacuated at the request of the country's military junta. The Pentagon said in a statement Monday that all remaining forces and assets at the base have been withdrawn as final evacuation efforts come to a close. The base cost the Pentagon $110 million to build and $30 million annually to maintain. Red Scare: Several Trump allies are taking the initiative to prevent the Chinese Communist Party from infiltrating America through its wide-open southern border. The Daily Caller's Reagan Reese with the[exclusive]( Former Acting Director of National Intelligence in the Trump Administration Ric Grenell and former New York congressman Lee Zeldin launched the "Protecting America Initiative," which will work to support state lawmakers to pass legislation to limit the CCP's growing influence in America, according to a press release obtained first by the Daily Caller. In its launch video, obtained by the Daily Caller, it highlights several CCP threats that need to be addressed including purchasing American farmland and Chinese nationals crossing the American border. TRENDING [Read the full story here]( FOR THE RECORD The Walz Whitewash: The Caller's Gage Klipper[skewers]( liberal media and left-wing meme warriors for trying to whitewash Tim Walz's radical record: It's a shocking level of coordination, even for our toady class of journos. NPR, Newsweek and the Wall Street Journal went with "folksy demeanor." The New York Times switched it up to "folksy persona." Bloomberg and Barron's ran with "folksy appeal." ABC really came out of left field with "folksy mannerisms." Seriously, a memo must have gone out. The memes, of course, started right away as well — hammering home the idea that Walz is just your neighborly dad who loves dogs, can change your oil and occasionally embarrasses his daughter. Nevermind that Minnesota fell to BLM, Antifa and COVID tyranny under his watch. CNN Loses Censorship Zealot: CNN's number one censorship advocate, Oliver Darcy,[abruptly departed]( the network Thursday to begin his own newsletter. Good riddance! It's great news for CNN if they actually want to become a real news network. And let's be honest, it's pretty safe to say no one will be signing up for Darcy's newsletter anytime soon.
