Step out into the morning sun for 15 min. 11 a.m. is your curfew. Practice deep breathing and meditation for 15 min. Incorporate light weights to your regular workout at the gym for at least 15 min. The students created a head device that collects brain signals and sends the data to a tiny computer. The computer then traces the signals back to specific brain regions and presents it simplistically online for public perusal. Many antidepressants work by preventing nerve cells in the brain from absorbing serotonin, a chemical involved in mood regulation. The flip side, however, is that they also prevent vital organs like the heart and kidneys from using serotonin. Recent findings, thus, rightly link antidepressants to a 33% higher risk of death and a 14% higher risk of a stroke or heart attack.
