Jesus responded, “For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice” (John 18:37). These words teach us something about serving with a heart like Jesus: bearing witness to the truth is a profound act of service. When we listen to the voice of Jesus and speak his truth to others, then we are serving with a heart like Jesus. What exactly does this look like? It may not look like what you’d expect. Bearing witness to the truth may sometimes sound something like this: “I was wrong; please forgive me.” Or “You are loved by God more than you know.” Or “Someone needs to do something about this, so I will!”...
