Who are you? What do you believe? Why does it matter to you? If someone quizzed you about your core convictions, could you give a coherent answer? Could you do it concisely, in one or two sentences? Every Christian ought to have a clear and compelling statement about who they are. But too often we fumble. We get a unique chance to share our heart and we say too much or nothing at all. In an increasingly non-Christian American society, Christians hold to a faith that is more and more a distant memory. True Christianity is muddled by varying opinions about Jesus. Or the message is overwhelmed by a thousand competing narratives. Non-Christians often have misperceptions about Christianity. Or they confuse Christian culture for the Christian faith. New Christians are overwhelmed and intimidated. Mature Christians are unable to convey their faith in an understandable way. In this era, it is of critical importance for every follower of Jesus to speak of his or her faith clearly, concisely, consistently, and in a compelling manner.
