Q: Why Torn? What's the message? A: When Jesus died and the temple curtain was torn in two from top to bottom, God gave us a dramatic picture of what Jesus' death means for us. That curtain had veiled off the Most Holy Place in the temple from the rest of the temple. The torn curtain showed us Jesus' forgiveness removes our sin-caused separation from God and gives us free access to Him through faith in Jesus. Q: How do I use this theme for Lent 2021? A: 1. Place your order for the Torn Devotional Journal. You can choose a version with ESV verses or a version with KJV verses. 2. Download the Torn Resource Pack. See the next question for more info. 3. Assign a small group to plan the Torn Holy Week Experience (see the final question here). Choose magnet or bookmark to send home as a tangible reminder, and order today. Q: What's in the Torn Resource Pack? A: This pack is available with ESV verses or KJV verses. When you open the zipped file, here's what you'll find . . . - Socially Speaking - a Word doc that gives you ideas for posting on social media - Facebook Photo - for posting on Facebook - Flyer - a printable flyer to advertise your 6-week journey - Art Files - available in low-res and high-res for you to use as needed - Bulletin Cover - printable to use for your in-person services - Sermon Outlines & Discussion Questions - the sermons can be used in several ways (see next question and answer) and the discussion questions work for your small groups, youth group, or in a small congregational setting. - PowerPoint - yours to personalize using the blank slides at the end; set up with slides for each week's lesson Q: What are options for using the sermons? A: The weekly sermons pull together the theme of what your congregation has been reading and reflecting on through the week. Use them . . . - As a sermon--feel free to adapt to make them your own - As an introduction for a small-group time together--give them to your small-group leaders to read to the group - As a devotional summary of the week for your weekly newsletter--again, feel free to adapt to make them fit your setting Q: What is the Torn Holy Week Experience? A: The Holy Week Experience provides brief content and activities for 7 areas that participants can rotate through on Good Friday or another time during Holy Week. The Holy Week Experience Resource Pack walks you through the planning, giving you ideas for an in-person event, for a paperless event, and for providing the experience as a virtual event. All of the actual content for the event is provided for you in a printable PDF, as well as in a downloadable PDF. [Explore Torn]( One More Thing: Thanks for reading this far!
