Just this week, Paris-based [Mistral AI]( said it is putting the finishing touches on a $487 million round that would reportedly value it at $2 billion. While Mistral is the most heavily funded of Europe’s generative AI companies, [there are at least 15 other AI-focused startups]( from the continent that have raised significant funding in recent quarters and that are working on areas from text-to-video synthesis to fraud detection.
