Protection for Americans â and Your Investment Portfolio Remember this couple? Thatâs Mark and Patricia McCloskey. In June 2020, in the wake of the death of George Floyd, a group of protestors marched down the McCloskeyâs street in their neighborhood in St. Lous, Missouri. Insisting that the protestors vacate, or perhaps even fearing for their safety, the couple stood in their front yard brandishing firearms. And soon after, their story (and the image above) went viral. Whether you think they overreacted, or simply did what any red-blooded American should have in that instance, is for you to decide. What Iâm focused on is how this picture is a perfect example of how guns have become a mainstay in a number of American homes⦠And, perhaps surprisingly, should also be part of your investment portfolio. Guns: What Are They Good For? Letâs start with an intriguing question: Why do people own guns? Sure, itâs a constitutional right. And yes, plenty of people enjoy collecting them as a hobby. But by and large, guns are a symbol of protection â of taking control and defending a personâs home or livelihood. Typically, youâd rely on the police for this type of defense. But recently, âwokeâ movements to defund the police and calls for law enforcement to do less have placed the burden of defense on ordinary citizens⦠And thatâs sent gun sales soaring⦠Locked and Loaded Take a look at this chart: This chart shows monthly background checks for gun owners since November 1998. See that spike on the right-hand side? That was in 2020, when civil unrest reared its ugly head and law enforcement either couldnât â or wouldnât â do its job. People searched for ways to defend themselves against unruly mobs⦠And just like the McCloskeys, they strapped up. Notably, this uptick in gun sales wasnât skewed toward a particular race or economic status. Across the board, people were in fear, and they turned to guns to provide a sense of security. The thing is, nearly four years later, weâre seeing a similar trend. Only this time, thereâs a unique element⦠This Group is Under Attack You see, as we head into 2024, we still face instances of mob activity, along with police inaction and crazy extremists â all ingredients in a recipe for disaster. But in light of the Hamas attacks on Israel, weâre also seeing a significant rise in hate crimes toward Jewish people, even right here in the U.S. The other day, a mob attacked a restaurant, simply because its owner is Jewish. In Los Angeles, a pregnant Jewish woman was threatened by a man with a knife â again, simply because of her heritage. These people arenât going to the police. After all, police are either unable or unwilling to help. What are they doing instead? You guessed it â theyâre buying guns. The Bottom Line Gun sales within this community are soaring, meaning the gun industry itself is booming as it sees interest from a previously untapped consumer group. Heck, even Democratic politicians â a group mostly against guns â are arming themselves. Georgia State representative Esther Panitch, for example, recently remarked that she has upgraded her weapons training as a result of whatâs going on. Hereâs the bottom line: Guns are a serious issue. And nobody wants to see people being attacked or harmed. But weâre faced with the reality that in order to truly take a step toward safety and freedom, individuals need to take action. And increasingly, that includes buying guns. As you might expect, the surge in gun sales is creating profitable times for many companies in this sector. Considering that, hereâs what Iâve done... Iâve identified two of these companies whose profit potential I believe is far beyond what youâll expect to find anywhere else in the sector. In fact, the types of returns Iâm forecasting could crush the overall broader market. If youâre a Pro subscriber, Iâll share the details on one of these companies. As for the other, Iâm saving those details for subscribers of my Moneyball Reset Trader service. Thatâs where youâll learn about the biggest shifts in market trends... And where youâll learn how to play these shifts to potentially earn life-changing profits. If youâre interested, [click here to learn more](. In the meantime, weâre in it to win it. Zatlin out.
