[The Crosswalk Devotional]( Ditching New Yearâs Resolutions
By Laura Bailey âBut as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.â - [Micah 7:7]( NIV For as long as I can remember, the days between [Christmas]( and New Yearâs were spent evaluating the previous year and planning all the ways I would improve in the following year. I crafted a detailed list with goals, timelines, and rewards if I hit the target. Rarely did I just focus on one resolution. Instead, I filled every line on the paper with a new achievement. And every year around the first of February, exhausted, overwhelmed, and irritated, I threw my resolution in the trash and immediately penned another, this time, a more obtainable listâexcept it was just as ridiculous to maintain as the first one. Last year, however, I decided to ditch the resolutions for good and focus on a word or Scripture for the year. Setting goals and working towards improving oneself isnât a bad thing. But, we mustnât let our identity be rooted in what we achieved ( or didnât). This year I decided to focus on three words, Scripture, and [prayer](. My hope is to spend a few minutes each day to meditate and abide in Christ, using these words to prompt my quiet time.  [CONTINUE READING â](

[Busy Delivery Driver Listens To God Telling Her To Stop And Pray For Stranger](
Â
GodTube.com As FedEx employee Amanda Riggan went about making her deliveries, she felt God tugging on her heart and she obeyed the call. Amanda Riggan has a servantâs heart. In her spare time, she honors first responders and veterans by surprising them with her homecooked barbecue. But even when sheâs on the clock working for FedEx, Amanda looks for ways to help others. While delivering packages on her route, Amanda came across a lady checking the mailbox. So, she and Amanda struck up a conversation as Amanda walked the packages to the front door. âI was like âHow was your holidays?' And with tears in her eyes, she said it wasn't good,â Amanda recalled in a video she posted to Facebook. âShe said, âHe's sick. My husband's sick. He has cancer.â" Amanda was unsure of how to respond, so she changed the subject. But the moment stuck in her head as she pulled away. âI stopped what I was doing. I went back to that neighborhood and rang her doorbell,â Amanda explained. âShe came down the stairs, she had tears in her eyes when she saw it was me â she smiled, and I said âMa'am can I pray with you?' And she just broke down. She came out on the front porch and squeezed me so tight." This was just the compassion that this stranger needed at that moment. Amanda is sharing her story on social media to urge others to heed the call of the Lord. When he tugs on your heart, be ready to follow his lead. What an inspiring moment that God placed His hands on. Credit: [GodUpdates]( Â [WATCH NOW â](
