To help you get ready for the post-Christmas swing into 2024… Coach Daniel and I wanted to share a few pieces of health & business advice we’ve recently given clients… Question: “Craig, I had a blah week… injuries, illness, and feeling old got me down. What do you say to yourself when you’re feeling old or battling injury?”  My Answer: In the gym, I accept that I'm old. I play the long game now and do what I can and aim to avoid injury. There are simply certain things that I can't and/or shouldn't do again. I also follow the Kenny Rogers workout theory... Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away. If I'm having a good workout and think about doing another set, I walk away. Better to think that I could have pushed harder than to break. Question: “I need to make some health changes… too much work, not enough movement. Need you to hold me accountable. I won’t follow through on my own.”  Answer from Coach Daniel: You also need to be more specific on your goals. Exactly how much fat do you want to lose in what exact time? Next, you must create 3 non-negotiable health action steps for the next 2 weeks. Exercise Non Negotiable Nutrition Non Negotiable Lifestyle Non Negotiable (i.e. sleep, micro walks, etc.) Clearly identify these 3 non negotiables and include 2-3 action steps to support each. Set up the accountability with your coach and set a date in 14 days where you and your coach evaluate your performance and adjust course from there. Keep it simple for now, and then add more advanced challenges once you prove your compliance and build confidence. *** And now some business-related harsh truth QnA Situation: An old friend is currently suffering some health problems due to people taking advantage of him. I’d been receiving his updates for about a year and did something I should have done earlier… gave him some tough love…  My email: Brother, you want to be liked. And because of that you are letting people take advantage of you… you are accepting their excuses and giving them unwarranted charity You are sacrificing yourself for other grown adults who don’t deserve it. Time to stop. People pay BEFORE they get your personal training sessions. That’s how it works in every gym around the world. Also, the real estate drama in your life needs to end… How long has it been that these people owe you money – two years? 2024 is the year you get paid what you are worth. No more stuff for free. It’s killing you. Goodbye to the people sucking you dry. Your time, love, and energy are worth so much more. *** Over to you... Where are you tolerating other people who do not respect your worth? Time for you to make a change in this area in 2024.
