This was definitely on our 2024 election bingo cards. [Courier]( Friend, Surprise, surprise 🙄 Tucker Carlson is already planting seeds for a new “big lie.” [We’ll explain how and why in a moment, but before we do, our mid-month goal is coming up, and we’re behind where we need to be. If you support our mission to stop right-wingers like Tucker Carlson from spreading election lies in 2024, can you chip in $10 to get us back on track?]( In the days and weeks following the 2020 election, Tucker Carlson used his top-rated Fox News show to aggressively push Donald Trump’s big lie, especially as it related to electronic voting machines. Thanks to Trump, Fox and Carlson, January 6th happened, and a majority of Republicans now believe that Democrats and Joe Biden stole the election. Make no mistake, Carlson knew he was lying. In private text messages released as part of a lawsuit against Fox News, Carlson said Trump’s lawyers were liars and that Trump should concede. Yet Carlson kept the lies going on-air because Trump’s false election conspiracy drove high ratings and profits. While no longer with Fox, Carlson has clearly learned from his experience. In his new streaming show, Carlson has repeatedly suggested that January 6th rioters were “set-up” by law enforcement. Now, after Joe Biden’s strong State of the Union performance, he says there’s no way Biden can win a fair election. According to Carlson, Democrats and the media are already working together to help Biden “steal” the election. Similar to his Dominion lies, Carlson claims that Democrats are planning to use mail-in voting and ballot dropboxes to facilitate another steal. This is all, of course, total BS. Audit after audit has found that the United States has fair elections, and voter fraud is not a concern. Carlson knows this, too, but he doesn’t care because pushing Trump’s conspiracy theories keeps the money rolling in. Damage to our democracy be damned. Carlson is an admitted liar, but here’s the thing, friend: Tucker’s video has almost one million views, and Donald Trump has never really stopped pushing the “big lie.” That means the same dynamic that created January 6th is coming together to keep the “big lie” going in 2024. This is a perilous moment for our country, and here at COURIER, we work around the clock to protect democracy from right-wing bad actors like Carlson and Trump. We fight election lies at their source by meeting people where they’re most likely to see it – in their social media newsfeeds and email inboxes. But we need your help. [We need to raise at least $20,000 this month to keep us on track for 2024 – but halfway through the month, we’re not on track to meet our goal. Can you chip in $10 today and help us combat misinformation?]( Express Donate: If you've stored your info with ActBlue Express, we'll process your contribution instantly: [$5]( [$15]( [$25]( [$50]( Thank you, COURIER team --------------------------------------------------------------- Email us: info@couriernewsroom.com [Become a member!]( This message was sent to: {EMAIL}.
