We broke the story first for Arizona. Friend, Recently, COURIER’s Arizona newsroom, The Copper

We broke the story first for Arizona. [Courier]( Friend, Recently, COURIER’s Arizona newsroom, The Copper Courier, was the first to break the story about a company called PragerU and its partnership to put right-wing curriculum into Arizona’s public schools. Courses taught by Tucker Carlson. Cartoons featuring Christopher Columbus and Frederick Douglas downplaying the awful legacy of slavery. PragerU is a brazen attempt to use public schools to brainwash kids with right-wing propaganda. Getting sunshine on the effort is the exact reason why COURIER exists. [You can read more below, but if you already know how important it is to call out right wing lies and propaganda, will you consider chipping in $15 today?]( Thanks, The COURIER team --------------------------------------------------------------- Hey friend, it’s The Copper Courier team. We’re COURIER’s Arizona newsroom – one of ten COURIER newsrooms in battleground states across the country. In a moment, we’re going to share with you a bananas story we broke about PragerU and right-wing misinformation in Arizona’s public schools. But, before we get to that, [we’re humbly asking for you to chip in $17 or more now so we can continue to provide Arizonans with critical local news coverage ahead of the 2024 elections.]( Alright, folks, if you’ve never heard of the right-wing media company PragerU, buckle up. Last week, PragerU announced “a partnership” with Arizona’s superintendent of education. The deal means public schools can now use their content in their curriculum. PragerU has repeatedly come under fire for controversial courses, like “How to be a Rational Patriot,” “Mateo backs the blue,” and “How To Embrace Your Masculinity.” And they even have guest courses from pundits like Tucker Carlson and Candice Owens. Arizonans should know that Tucker Carlson and Candice Owens may soon teach their kids misinformation in public school classrooms. But with local newsrooms shutting their doors or getting gobbled up by right-wing media conglomerates, trustworthy, local reporting is hard to come by. That’s why we were proud to be the first to break the story: The Copper Courier, January 31, 2024 Breaking important stories like these takes a tremendous amount of resources, friend. Just like all of COURIER’s battleground state newsrooms, the Copper Courier doesn’t use paywalls or subscription fees.
