Disinformation is winning. It’s time for a new plan. [Courier]( America is stuck in a dangerous information crisis. Fox News. Elon Musk. The Daily Caller. Powerful right-wing engines of misinformation are endlessly spreading lies and hate. But why exactly is our media landscape so broken? First, quality local newsrooms are disappearing. Second, powerful right-wing interests are running mass disinformation campaigns 24/7 across every platform possible — sowing doubt, inflaming divisions, and causing political violence like we saw on January 6th. If you feel like we’re at a perilous crossroads, you’re not alone. On cable news, social media, and even the dark web, right-wing bad actors keep doubling down on propaganda and lies. Without viable alternatives, millions of Americans find themselves trapped in an echo chamber of bad information and fake news. That's where we come in. Here at Courier Newsroom, we’re fighting back by building the largest left-leaning network of local newsrooms in America. We neutralize bad information by reporting factual, relevant news and information, delivered directly to those who need it most. We already have local newsrooms in 10 battleground states staffed by real journalists who live in the communities we serve, and we’re ready to expand our network. To do that, we need your help to spread the word about the great reporting published by our talented team of journalists every day. We know that the best antidote to disinformation is more good information, and that’s what our newsrooms take pride in delivering at Courier Newsroom. Now, here’s where you come in. We’re only able to offer free, accessible local news because grassroots supporters like you chip in what they can, when they can. [We have a goal of raising $15,000 before the end of the year to grow our network of left-leaning local newsrooms and fight back against dangerous lies and disinformation. Can we count on your $5 to get us there?]( [Chip in ➡️]( Thank you!
