The Supreme Court gave Trump immunity. Why that matters for 2025 Friend, Last week the radical right

The Supreme Court gave Trump immunity. Why that matters for 2025 [Courier]( Friend, Last week the radical right-wing members of the Supreme Court decided that presidents, and specifically Trump, have immunity from prosecution for any of their official actions done as president. While dissenting Justice Sonia Sotomayor said that she “feared for democracy” and that the ruling makes presidents "kings above the law," the radical think tank The Heritage Foundation cheered. On Steve Bannon’s podcast, head of The Heritage Foundation Kevin Roberts called the ruling encouraging, saying “We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be." [We’ll explain more in a moment, but if you’re ready to support COURIER’s fearless coverage of The Heritage Foundation and other right-wing groups, can you chip in $20 now?]( So, friend, what is this “second American Revolution” Roberts refers to? It all starts with Project 2025. Project 2025 is a detailed, 900-page plan for the next Republican president of the United States. If executed, the plan would replace civil servants with political appointees by the president and usher in an era of Christian Nationalism. Supporters plan to implement total birth control bans, end no-fault divorce, and refuse to acknowledge the existence of LGBTQ+ people. The Heritage Foundation (and its leader, Kevin Roberts) is the primary organization behind Project 2025. So when Roberts says the most recent Supreme Court decision is encouraging and shows “In spite of all this nonsense from the left, we are going to win. We're in the process of taking this country back," you should pay attention. Meanwhile, the right-wing media is going nuts – in support of Roberts, of course. Read what Roberts said – a second American revolution is coming. The right is ready for civil war. And Fox News, Steve Bannon, Donald Trump, and the rest of the right-wing are cheering for it. This is the exact same rhetoric that led to the attacks on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, folks. We cannot lose our democracy because media personalities are cheering on civil war for profits and clicks. COURIER was founded to expose the radicalization and conspiracy theories on the right. We publish our news in the same places where people are most likely to encounter this dangerous rhetoric—on social media feeds and in email inboxes—and counter it with the truth. [We need your help. We are less than four months away from election day, and every day we see new evidence of how critical this election is going to be to saving our democracy.
