Closing in on our March deadline Hey friend, In just a few days, March and the first quarter of 2024

Closing in on our March deadline [Courier]( Hey friend, In just a few days, March and the first quarter of 2024 will end. We know your inbox will be flooded with requests like this, so we’re getting ahead of the curve because our work to protect democracy from right-wing election lies and conspiracy theories is more important than ever. We’ll make this quick: [We set a lofty goal for March—$25,000 raised—and right now, we’re behind by $9,000. So, if you support our mission to provide factual local news in the communities that need it most, can you give $10 to help us meet our goal?]( In 2024, it’s more important than ever that we have good information to combat the right-wing lies and conspiracy theories voters are seeing on their social media feeds and in their email inboxes. Already, we’re seeing the legacy media barely mention Donald Trump’s age while obsessively covering Joe Biden’s (even though Biden is only four years older). We’ve seen Trump’s use of authoritarian, violent rhetoric reduced to the kind of “both sides” coverage more suited to covering March Madness than an election where the Republican candidate is promising a revenge tour if he’s elected. And we’re watching right-wing bad actors like Fox News and Tucker Carlson plant the seeds to make another bogus stolen election claim like they did in the aftermath of 2020. Look, the legacy and right-wing media are failing our democracy at the absolute worst moment. Worst of all, local newsrooms are closing, and we’re losing access to trustworthy journalism about the issues that most directly impact our communities. The good news? We built COURIER for just this moment. Our ten battleground newsrooms cover essential local issues without sensationalism or bias. While local news outlets across the country are being bought up by right-wing media empires, firing employees, or shutting down altogether, COURIER is expanding. We’re hiring more reporters and opening a brand new Texas newsroom before the year ends. [But we can’t do that without your help. So, if you can, please chip in $10 to help us meet our goal and continue providing local news to the communities that need it most.]( Express Donate: If you've stored your info with ActBlue Express, we'll process your contribution instantly: [$5]( [$15]( [$25]( [$50]( Thanks, COURIER --------------------------------------------------------------- Email us: info@couriernewsroom.com [Become a member!]( This message was sent to: {EMAIL}.
