[Monthly Donors: 20 - Goal: 50]( Monthly Donors: 20 Goal: 50 Dear Friend, At Corporate Accountability, we are dedicated to environmental justice. Today, plastic pollution poses a massive threat to the oceans, land, climate, public health, and livability of the planet. In a recent investigation, we found that corporations like McDonalds, PepsiCo, and Coca-Cola continue to play a massive role in perpetuating the plastic waste crisis while greenwashing their promises on plastic. Coca-Cola has even been declared the worst plastic polluter in the world, with some estimates of the company annually producing plastic equivalent to 200,000 plastic bottles per minute.1 This is not acceptable, especially when these companies continue to fuel this crisis with complete impunity. But there is hope. Together, we can work together to hold these corporations accountable and create change. We’re calling on 50 of our community members to step up and make a monthly gift by February 29. When you do, your first gift will be matched with an additional $150, and we’ll send you an exclusive sticker as a thank you. [Will you help us challenge and stop these abusive and polluting corporations by making a monthly gift today?]( [A fish inside a plastic glove]( The oceans are choking with plastic pollution, suffocating the entire web of life they support. Plastic has been found in nearly 59% of sea birds, 100% of sea turtle species, and more than 25% of fish sampled from seafood markets. [image of a polluted beach]( Plastic pollution deepens global inequities, with the Global North’s plastic waste getting dumped into the communities in the Global South that contribute far less to this problem but are forced to experience the worst ill effects of it. [image of crushed plastic bottles]( Plastic is disturbingly omnipresent. It can be carcinogenic as well as a hormone disruptor. Traces of it are now found in human breast milk, placenta, and newborns. [MAKE A MONTHLY GIFT]( Today, you have a special opportunity to help make a meaningful difference in the campaign against plastic pollution. We need to hold these corporations accountable, and stop them from interfering in policymaking so we can meaningfully address this crisis. [Join us with a monthly gift today and make a lasting difference.]( The ongoing support of monthly donors ensures that we have the resources and flexibility we need to demand and achieve lasting change.
