We understand the important role we have at CorePower Yoga to provide yoga and mindfulness tools that support students’ mental wellness. Regardless of my mindset when I come to my yoga mat, my perspective shifts during class and I feel more positive and hopeful. If you’ve taken at least a few yoga classes, you’ve likely experienced something similar. This Mental Health Month, I’m excited to share that [new research]( from Harvard Medical School's Massachusetts General Hospital confirms what we’ve heard from CorePower students for over twenty years. Taking heated yoga classes can dramatically improve your mental health. The study found that people who practiced heated yoga reduced their depressive symptoms by at least 50 percent. More than that, after eight weeks of weekly heated yoga, 44 percent of people in the study were considered in remission from their depression. To kick off our new video series, [CorePower Conversations]( I sat down with Maren Nyer, PhD, and Simmie Foster, MD, PhD – two researchers at the helm of this important study – to discuss what prompted their research and some of the key findings. [Hear from the researchers behind the groundbreaking study on heated yoga and depression]( I hope you’ll listen to this compelling conversation. Your yoga practice truly benefits your body, mind, and spirit. We're thankful that you've chosen to roll out your mat at CorePower Yoga and delighted that you're part of our community.
