Have you ever wondered how a professional copywriter (aka salesperson) would go about setting up a quick consulting business? Well you’re in luck my greedy young friend, because your Uncle Neville has taken the liberty of going through every single step of the process, and is giving you the templates along the way right inside this email. Quite honestly this post will be better than a lot of paid courses I’ve seen. No conceptual bullshit here, just action! If you’ve ever wanted to start a business but never had any money, let’s try this together right now and make your first $100: Step 1.) Identify the specific service to sell: Using our handy [Business Idea Generator]( I got the idea to sell WordPress websites for a flat $100 fee. Here is our value proposition in one sentence: --------------------------------------------------------------- For $100 I will setup your WordPress website in 24 hours. --------------------------------------------------------------- So that’s the product we’re going to sell. We’ve identified a price, a service, and a delivery time. Our Price: $100. Our Service: Make you a working WordPress website. Our Delivery Time: In 24 hours. Step 2.) Post this offer on your Facebook: This part is super easy, yet super hard psychologically (for some people). All I want you to do is post this script on your personal Facebook page: --------------------------------------------------------------- Hey Friends, For $100 I will setup a full WordPress website for you within 24 hours. Any website you need (can be a personal blog, photography portfolio, company website), I will make for you. If you’ve ever wanted a running website but didn’t know where to start, I’ll guide you through the whole process. We’ll hop on a call together and within 24 hours I’ll get your entire website up and running. These websites are designed so:–You can easily update them.–They have a chance of getting ranked in search engines.–You can send people your website link. I am doing a very limited promotion of a flat $100 fee for this ENTIRE service. Many web developers charge starting at $125/hour, so this is extremely generous! Sincerely,WhateverYourNameIs – Phone/Text: 555-555-5555 P.S. If you know anyone that might want my help setting up an entire website, please tag them. --------------------------------------------------------------- That’s all you have to do. Don’t overthink this…..just post it. Step 3.) Post the offer on Facebook Groups: This part requires being part of groups on Facebook where your service might be useful. Since we’re selling WordPress themed websites, we can try: - Entrepreneur pages (I’m part of a private group called From Wantrepreneur to Entrepreneur). - Niche groups such as Photography (In my area I would offer website portfolios to Austin Photography Facebook Group). - Job boards such as The Cult of Copy Job Board Facebook Group. - Startup Facebook Groups (Austin Startups is in my area). - Freelancer Facebook Groups (Austin Freelance Gigs is in my area) Since it’s generally frowned upon to blatantly spam a Facebook Group with offers, we’ll modify the above offer just a bit for the Facebook Group postings. Copy/Paste this script into the groups: --------------------------------------------------------------- Hey friends! If you’re ever wanted a website built, I’m doing a special deal where I’ll setup a full WordPress website for you within 24 hours for only $100. Any website you need (can be a personal blog, photography portfolio, company website), I will make for you. We’ll hop on a call together and within 24 hours I’ll get your entire website up and running. I’ll even train you how to use it if needed. These websites are designed so: –You can easily update them. –They have a chance of getting ranked in search engines. –You can send people your website link. I am doing a very limited promotion of a flat $100 fee for this ENTIRE service. Many web developers here charge starting at $125/hour, so this is extremely generous! Sincerely, WhateverYourNameIs – Phone/Text: 555-555-5555 P.S. I’m pretty decent at setting up websites, so if you have any website questions at all, ask them in the comments and I’ll help you out or point you in the right direction. --------------------------------------------------------------- Step 4.) Post on Craigslist: Next step is to utilize our old friend Craigslist. It’s still a massive hotbed of people posting and searching for specific gigs. And to make sure you have zero excuse not to do this, I will make your entire ad for you: Here is the ad you need to copy/paste into the Services –> Computer section of Craigslist: --------------------------------------------------------------- Title: WordPress websites made for $100 right here in Austin! Body: WordPress websites made for you right here in Austin! – Flat $100 fee for full website setup. – 24 hour turnaround time. – Will go through full setup with you, or do it for you. – Will show you how to use the website. – Expert in setting up WordPress websites. Call/Text Neville to start: 713-301-1546 --------------------------------------------------------------- *NOTE* Obviously you’ll need to replace your city, name, and contact information. If your Craigslist posting allows you to post an image, we’ve got you covered on that too. Here’s a sample (and proven) template for you to copy/paste. I’ve included the editable template below: To customize this template as your own, you can open this template in Google Drawings then click File –> Make A Copy: €‹ Step 5.) Make a One Pager to post on bulletin boards: What is a [One Pager](=) you ask? It’s basically a flyer you can physically post somewhere (preferably in an area where people will want websites). Here’s a printed out and taped-up version: You can download and customize this One Pager flyer with your own information. Click the template then click File –> Make A Copy to edit your own: Here is where you will post these flyers: - The 3 nearest coffee shops to you. - Any co-working spaces in your area. - College campuses nearby. - Outside of office buildings. Everyone’s area will have a difference in options to post. The point is to get your generous offer in front of people who may want a website. The above options are a great start. Pro-Tips for newbie entrepreneurs: Keep it hella simple: Often the smartest people never start because they overthink things. Just remember to follow the path of least resistance here. We’re doing simple projects, for a simple price…..so keep it simple. Don’t flatter yourself you egotistical asshole: “Omg what if people judge me for posting that??” “What if I don’t get more than 10 likes??” “What if this experiment fails and everyone knows??” Umm please don’t flatter yourself so hard. If you think people are paying attention to you THAT much, you need to tell your egotistical brain to calm the hell down. No one is paying that much attention. When’s the last time you really judged and ruminated over someone’s status update post? You don’t need to plan out every aspect of this: All we’re doing is fishing to see if people bite. If we get taken up on our offer 10 times in the first hour, then hooray! You’ve hit upon something great and got yourself 10 new clients! Many people (especially super-analytical and planning-type people) tend to get paralyzed because they feel they need to plan out every-tiny-little-aspect of how they’ll handle these jobs. Resist the urge my friend!! If you start planning out “future scenarios” all the time, you’ll never get started. Just get the gigs first, then handle the details later. This will be you on-the-job training. Don’t try to increases your prices just yet: I see failing and poor freelancers all the time. They think they “deserve” a certain pay grade right away without putting in the work. Fuck these people. If you think the world owes you something, you’re going to have a very very very tough time in the future. You know who wins in this game? The people who are willing to start out with this mindset: “OK, I’m just some newbie freelancer with zero experience, so I’m willing to start at the bottom. Yes some people will take advantage of my low prices, yes some people will get the deal of lifetime with this cheap work, but I’m willing to start somewhere and get experience. I will raise my prices when I am flooded with clients.” These people are awesome. These people get so many jobs they HAVE to raise their prices. These people serendipitously get gigs and jobs they never dreamed of. --------------------------------------------------------------- 24 Hour Real Life Experiment using these scripts: *NOTE* This experiment was done SO last minute, on a Friday night (the worst time to post social content), during the holidays, and advertising a very specific service (WordPress website building)….and it still worked! Before posting these templates I quickly asked someone to follow the steps. Joe Dowdell a WordPress developer from the U.K. took me up on the offer and within 15 minutes posted all the scripts and templates shown here. Joe posted a comment on a looonng thread in The Smart Passive Income FB group. It was a 100+ comment thread, and it got a little love, but not much interest: Joe then posted in a group called the Idea Machine FB Group. 1 person wanted to build a site in January with Joe, 1 wanted extra services like design, and one was semi-interested. All from a stupid little comment Joe copy/pasted from this blog post! Joe then posted the exact script and image on Craigslist (actually he posted it to the equivalent of Craigslist in the U.K. called GumTree. Joe posted the ad in the section: Business Services >> Telecoms & Computers Services >> Website Design Services. This was posted in his city of Frome, England, with a population of less than 27,000 people, and Joe actually got a response from the ad in less than 24 hours! At my request Joe did this experiment with allll of these things going against him: - Only 24 hours to complete. - Could only post in his small town. - Posted on a Friday night during the holiday season. - Was advertising only a very specific service. - Limited to posting in Facebook groups and on GumTree, no other platforms. ….and less than 24 hours later he already had several interested people! Let's give Joe a round of applause for doing this so quickly and getting his first freelancing gig! Joe Dowell --------------------------------------------------------------- Here’s another example of this method working damn-near immediately for someone who never charged for their photography services (and immediately booked a $120 gig)! Linda’s First $120 Photography Gig Example: A few weeks after this was posted, my friend Linda emailed me saying she got her first photography clients from this! The cool part was, Linda creatively “disguised” the sales pitch as a friendly request for going to a cafe. She sent this message to 28 of her friends and old classmates through email: --------------------------------------------------------------- Hello friends and old classmates, I just started a photography business and am still growing it. I will be in Houston working an Artful Bachelorette party next weekend and thought I’d offer discounted photo sessions mornings of Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd to my old schoolmates! If you’re around and interested. I’ll charge a flat and discounted rate of 120 dollars, shoot for an hour and share digital prints via Google Drive. Typically I share about 20-50 prints for an hour’s worth of shooting. It’ll be lovely to see your faces and meet your families! If you’re not in the market for photos at this time, I’d still love your support in the form of a like on Facebook or Instagram. Many thanks in advance. Lastly, I also want to check out Honey Art Cafe Saturday afternoon if anyone wants to join me! If so, just FB message me or text me at (number removed). Sending you all love and light, Linda --------------------------------------------------------------- So what happened after Linda sent that simple email through Gmail to some friends? She booked not one…..but TWO paid photography sessions for $120 each! So within 24 hours of sending the email she got TWO paying clients for a total of $240! Here’s why this is great: - Linda was previously a bit scared to charge for services…turns out several of her friends wanted her services. - Linda didn’t have a big email list of people, it was literally just 28 friends/family she sent to. - Linda didn’t pitch hard, in fact the end of the email was a request to hang out when she was in town, not a sales pitch. Pretty neat huh? Hopefully Linda’s example shows you this simple method of offering your services to the world really can work! --------------------------------------------------------------- You have no more excuse not to act: If you EVER complain that you don’t have more than $100 to spend on something, follow this format and drum up some money quickly. There is no excuse not to do this anymore, I’ve provided you the exact scripts and templates for every step of the way. Sincerely, Neville Medhora – Copywriter legitimately trying to make you $100 quick. P.S. Go do it! Let us know if you have any questions.
