The S.T.U.P.I.D. Email (Swipe, Thought, Uplifting, Picture, Interesting, Drawing) This is a fun email for Friday July 16th, 2021. Hope you like it :) Listen as audio: â Swipe: Health standards in the 1950âs were hilariously different, just check out this magazine ad for giving 7-Up soda to toddlers ð â âWhen it comes to toddlers - if they like to be coaxed to drink their milk, try this: Add 7-Up to the milk in equal parts, pouring the 7-Up gently into the milk. Itâs a wholesome combination - and it works!â â â â Thought: To write better, you should think like a dumb caveman! â âME NO LIKE. THIS BORING.â
Thatâs how a prehistoric dumb caveman might sound. Heâs really basic and says whatâs on his mind with zero filter at all. Think like that caveman and I bet your subconscious thoughts will flow through. âTHIS BOOK BORING. NO ONE CARE.â
âTHIS MAKE ME SAD. ME NO WATCH.â
âTHIS PRODUCT DUMB. ME HATE THIS.â Basically you speak with this simple and raw voice, and your true thoughts about something come through without your rational side getting in the way.
â â â Uplifting: I'm at the tail end of most house improvements, and one of the last things I'm doing is getting grasscloth wallpaper installed in the office. This is wallpaper with dead grass weaved in with small strings, so it's super texture-y, which is important because it absorbs tons of sound! â The installation is much more involved than regular wallpaper, so I have to keep the whole downstairs of the house at 80 degrees while it adheres to the wall....I'm not happy about this since it's SUMMER IN TEXAS ð â Previously the office had bare white walls which didn't make for the best background, and also creates a decent amount of echo. â The grasscloth paper is slowly coming along, I'll share pictures of the finished office next week! â â
â â Picture: These super cheap â[grill mats](=)â are the best little invention ever! ⢠They keep the grill clean.
⢠Juices donât fall away so everything tastes better.
⢠Chop things small and itâs no prob, wonât fall in grill!
⢠Throw in dishwasher. Not sure what miracle material these made from but theyâre amazing! â â â â â Yummmmm! â â â Interesting: I just did an [interview](=) with the CEO of AppSumo, Ayman Al-Abdullah, on how people get featured to AppSumo's 1,000,000+ customers: =â I've been doing these interviews in my home office, and it's cool to have the guest come and hang out for a while! =â I'll publish a full email with interesting findings from this interview, but here's some snippets: EVOLUTION OF COURSES ON APPSUMO:
â⢠Software now outsells courses by 10 to 1. ⢠4 years ago learning how to code was cool, but then people realized it's hard, so now No-Code Tools are far more popular. ⢠Courses are commonly being used as lead generation, thought leadership, and upselling higher cost services and products. â BUILDING THE APPSUMO CUSTOMER AVATAR:
â⢠They call their ideal customer "Marketing Agency Matt." ⢠MAM buys SEO Tools, Design tools, Social media tools the most. ⢠The likelihood of the pizza shop down the street will purchase 10 pieces of software is low, however MAM will do that each year, so that's why Marketing Agency Matt is their ideal customer avatar they sell to. â THREE LEVERS THAT GROW A BUSINESS:
1.) Number of Customers
â2.) Average Order Value
â3.) Repurchase Rate â
USE THAT FORMULA TO FIGURE OUT REVENUE: [Number of Customers]
X
[Average Order Value]
X
[12 Month Repurchase Rate]

Annual Revenue â â[See the whole interview here â](=)â â â â â Drawing: This is a little image about happiness: â Input happy stuff, get happy thoughts.
â
Input sad stuff, get sad thoughts. â Your brain is like a sponge. If you feed it negativity and anger all day it will reflect that.
If you feed it fun and positivity...it will reflect that! Analyze what you feed your brain all day. Are you watching news all day that reports all the bad things in life? This will affect your thinking negatively. Do you follow people on social media who make you angry or constantly complain? Consider unfollowing them, as you did not ask for them to spout negativity in your face. Itâs your choice to control what you allow in your brain. I believe Iâm a pretty happy person, and my input reflects that. I aggressively unfollow complainers from social media, I listen to tons of comedy on podcasts and YouTube, I only watch funny shows for the most part, play with lots of kids and dogs, and rarely pay attention to issues outside my circle of influence. My brain gets 90% happy input. I hope yours gets plenty of happy input also this Friday ð
â â â Hope you enjoyed these little tidbits, have a happy Friday :)â
