when she finally asked me ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

when she finally asked me ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  I was 32. For over a year, I'd been going to the same bank and walking up to the same teller when she finally said to me: "So can I ask what you do for a living?" She was holding a cheque I was there to deposit. Another cheque. Into an account that was pretty healthy, particularly for a 32 year-old who was able to stroll into the bank any time of day. Clearly I wasn't stuck behind a desk. Clearly I wasn't working for someone else, someone who thought I should clock in, clock out and ask permission to run an errand to the bank. It was my name on the cheque. My name on the account. "Oh, I'm a copywriter," I said, immediately followed by, "Like, y'know when you buy something from a website? I write websites so more people buy more things from them." Because no one knows what a copywriter is. Shortly after that interaction, I created a course called The Copy Link, which turned into 10x Landing Pages. I made that course to teach bank tellers (and other people who want to cash nice cheques) [step-by-step how to write the kinda web copy that clients need and love.]( And to be fair: This world of ours is completely filled to the brim with clients looking for website copy that they love. If that doesn't jibe with your experience, I've gotta ask: - Are you inadvertently losing calls with leads because you don't have the level of confidence businesses expect of freelancers? As in, do leads ghost you after that first interaction? - When you actually do the work, do your clients politely smile but then fail to pay your invoice or use your copy? To be a happy, earning freelancer with leads that arrive early for your zoom calls, you need to write copy clients absolutely love. That's why I: - Shared "I ♥️ Your Copy" with you for free this month, - Gave you a sweet deal on the now-closed Copy School and - Keep promoting killer free training, like Tutorial Tuesdays. [And it's why I put this web copywriting bundle together for anyone who's taken free training about as far as it will ever go but couldn't pull the trigger on Copy School earlier this week.]( If you're a retired teacher trying to figure out what to do next... A firefighter with lots of time on your hands... A designer, consultant or creative director who wants to shape the full creative picture by mastering both art and copy... A WordPress developer tasked with writing copy for clients... A journalist, blogger or novelist going "is there an easier way??"... A copywriter... Or, yes, a bank teller staring at other people's accounts and wondering how to get a piece of that action. [Come get the skills you need to be a web copywriter.]( So you can finally get a handle on how to: ✅ work from home, for yourself, ✅ on projects clients need done stat (i.e., websites and pages) ✅ at rates that keep nice shoes on your kids' feet. [We bundled our best web copywriting training up here for you.]( In case Copy School felt a tad too big. ~jo :) PS: I didn't start Copyhackers because I had this big vision for what the world needed. Fact is: I started Copyhackers because almost as soon as I left Intuit to figure out what I was gonna do next, I had a waitlist of startups that wanted to hire me to write their websites and landing pages. How did I get a waitlist so fast? Someone wrote on Hacker News about my web copywriting skills. That's it. One founder told other startup founders that I was the one to go to for new or revamped website copy, and voila. That was the start of cashing those cheques I mentioned above. And now this is going to sound like bragging, but I'm okay with that if it's what you need to hear to [get your hustle on today](. I am writing this email from my desk in sunny Kelowna, BC, which is one of the best places in Canada to live. It's also one of the most expensive. My home office overlooks my big backyard, where my two dogs are bolting back and forth, from one end to the other, right over the swimming pool cover (which is safe - I looked into it). Below my yard is a huge organic vineyard. And just beyond that is the vastness of Okanagan Lake, which happens to be particularly sparkly today. Last month, I travelled first class to a private founders' event in Bologna, Italy. I treated a couple of my founder friends to a first-class train trip to Florence. I ordered anything I wanted to at the incredible restaurants there, and I have no idea what any of it cost. Next month, I'll fly to our company's HQ in Edmonton, where we have 4000 sq ft of space in an historic brick building with 20-foot ceilings. We treat it as a filming studio. Only 1 person actually works there. At the end of the summer, my husband and I are planning a trip to Maui. Not because I've worked myself to the bone and am exhausted. Far from it. In fact, my team and I take every seventh week off plus three weeks vacation plus our birthdays, which is kinda cool. I have loads of free time. No, I don't have a Lambo. I have no fancy watches. I have, instead, the life I've wanted and the means to afford it. And I owe it all to my reputation as a web copywriter. It's what my career is based on, and it's what leads of all sizes continue to reach out to me for. It doesn't make my life perfect, but damn is it nice to have a skillset that renders me forever employable. Now maybe web copywriting isn't for you. But if you think it might be, I'd say [you should get this](. It could be the step you need to reshape your career so it gives you the life you've wanted. And the means to afford it. Not overnight. But with [smart study]( so you actually nail the jobs ahead.  [Click here to manage your subscriptions]( [Click here to unsubscribe]( Copyhackers, 10158 103 St NW Unit 200, Edmonton, Alberta T5J 0X6, Canada

Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
