Welcome back to Copyblogger! Thanks for taking a moment to check in with our community for writers ... I'm Stefanie, Copyblogger's Editor-in-Chief, and below you'll find your weekly dose of tips to help you transform from an ace writer into a full-fledged content entrepreneur. Scroll on! --------------------------------------------------------------- Building Blocks of Satisfied Customers I was thinking recently about what makes me buy a product or service. It could be anything from a new type of tea to an acupuncture session. (Yes, I enjoy calming things.) And I'm not talking about any fancy marketing theory here. I've simply uncovered the emotional state I'm in when I decide to move forward with a purchase. I feel understood. I feel that the brand or service provider understands where I'm coming from and the need or desire I'd like to fulfill with my purchase. It's more than that though. I feel that the specific brand or service provider I decide to go with understands exactly what I'm trying to achieve with my purchase better than the other options I've explored. That's a lot of feelings, right? But they shouldn't be underestimated. They guide me, and they guide your prospective customers also. Actually, this is kind of fancy marketing theory that's broken down into practical terms. When a product or service demonstrates this spot-on empathy in their content and copy, I take a leap of faith and begin to trust them ... I begin to trust that my purchase won't be a waste, and once I've convinced myself that my purchase won't be a waste, I'm ready to buy. Trust begins with empathy. --------------------------------------------------------------- What Does It Take to Write a Book? ˘Â€Â‹ On this episode of The Copyblogger Podcast, Tim Stoddart and Ethan Brooks talk about Ethan's new book, In Case You Forget. They also discuss what it takes to write a book, including the mental journey from idea to execution. [Click here to listen to the episode](. --------------------------------------------------------------- How to Stick to a Schedule, Even If You Lack Writing Confidence ˘Â€Â‹ written by Sonia Simone It’s tricky to stick to a schedule when you can see all of the flaws in your own writing. So, how can we publish content every week, or even every month, when we still have so much to learn? Most of us run into this sometimes — and it can turn into an ugly case of writer’s block. We have a real desire to serve an audience with our work, but unhelpful perfectionism holds us back from meeting our writing goals. Let’s knock that one out before we start talking about how to get comfortable clicking Publish — even if you’re not a “great writer” yet. [Click here to read the article](. --------------------------------------------------------------- Solving the Emotional Puzzle This week in Copyblogger Academy, Tim's new 4-part workshop got especially interesting! The first two sessions provided the groundwork for this third installment about crafting the perfect sales page. Let's recap ... The first lesson in this series was about discovering and understanding your ideal customer. It covered: - Your reason "why" and your perfect avatar - 5 magic questions you need to ask to solve your customers' problems - Removing the top 5 deal-killers in your copy Then, Tim demonstrated how the right framework can do a lot of heavy lifting for you. The second lesson on copywriting templates talked about: - The #1 single most important piece of sales copy ever - Addressing objections before they happen - The power of meaning Now it's time to bring together the 13 blocks or "puzzle pieces" you need to create winning sales copy. There's an ideal sequence of emotions you want to guide your target customer through, so that by the end of your sales page they're in the exact emotional state that motivates them to buy. If you format your sales page in the wrong order, the emotions you generate won't be quite right. In this third lesson, Tim teaches: - How to assemble your 13 sales blocks in the right order - The way to guide your prospect from "interested" to paying customer - When to use a video sales page If you follow this structure, you'll sell more products, close more deals, and bring your prospects through the customer journey that emotionally primes them to buy what you're selling. :-) If you missed any of these sessions, you can find the replays in your Academy dashboard under "Masterclass Presentations."
