ON: After All, Perception is Reality # Hello ON Readers, “Perception is Reality” As a 20-something finding my way amongst corporate cubicles, my boss at the time shared this pearl of wisdom, and the sentiment stuck with me. This month we’re talking about Reputation Management on the Convince & Convert channels. As the team and I share our own gems, remember that “Perception is Reality” is a hard and fast rule for how your audiences and stakeholders feel about your brand. Reputation management is the mirror held up to reflect public sentiment and perception back upon the brand. These days it gets caught by gatekeepers, those on the front lines of social listening and audience engagement initiatives. It’s admittedly difficult to triage or elevate public perception in a way that leaders take notice. After all, when their perception is 180° different, what is the motivation to listen to general social chatter? Except, it matters. Our team has a ton of experience here. We’ve led efforts for audience engagement at brands like Disney Parks and the PGA TOUR, and helped clients like AARP and Arizona Public Services get a handle on it too. One of us literally [wrote the book]( on managing ratings and reviews. Check out the links we have curated on this today and catch the C&C Blog all of November for more from our team on Reputation Management.
