Sunday, May 20 Influencer marketing is everywhere, it seems. Just this week, we published two pieces about it, including one from Jeff Epstein called [How to Stay Competitive in the Growing World of Influencer Marketing](. And then I wrote a comprehensive, 2000+ word treatise on the [11 Things You Must Know About B2B Influencer Marketing](), which compares and contrasts how it works for B2B versus B2C brands. Why is influencer marketing so important? First, paid advertising is more expensive than ever, and yields fewer results in many cases. Second, with content marketing investments going up and up and up, that content has to be seen somehow. Influencers are thought to be a good way to make that happen. And third, with social media algorithms throttling exposure from brand-created posts, the idea is that influencers and other real people have a better chance of spreading brand-centered communications. All of these are true. On the social media side, here’s a great article I just found from Bambu: [A Roundup of the Most Important Updates Made to Social Media Algorithms in 2018](. And on the content marketing side, an outstanding case study from Canva about how Intercom (one of our partners) stands out with content: [Not Just Another Content Marketing Plan](). Also of note this week: (World Debut!) [The Best Social Media from America’s Leading Hospitals]( °ÂŸÂ’Š I am so proud of this. The first major research project from our team at Convince & Convert, working with data from our friends at Rival IQ. We evaluated and analyzed the social media programs of 50+ large hospitals to uncover big trends about what works, and what doesn’t. Even if you’re not a hospital, the lessons in here apply to all social media marketers. [Grab the free download here](. (And I’d love to know what you think.
