This is the work of data brokers — companies that compile, sell and profit off of your personal information. Sometimes these are third-party companies that you have never even interacted with. These practices have a major impact on our lives, influencing the ads we see and even affecting our access to credit or loans. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has heard complaints about these companies’ practices, which may abuse our personal data or violate our privacy. Now they’re gathering information on people’s experiences with data brokers. [Have you ever tried to correct or delete your data from these companies’ databases? Have you been harmed by — or benefited from — a data broker? If so, the CFPB wants to learn from you. Tell your story before the June 13 deadline.](  [Share Your Experience](  Your stories matter. They can help illustrate the real-world impact of data brokers' practices and contribute to necessary policy and regulatory changes.
