[Consumer Reports]   Friend, More electric vehicles on our roads — from the cars and trucks we all drive, to the buses that navigate our local streets — mean less air pollution, and less damage from climate change. And electric vehicles are less expensive to own, saving consumers $6,000-$10,000 on average, including thousands in lower fuel and maintenance costs. But there's been a lack of political will to invest in these money-saving vehicles and the infrastructure needed to make it all work — until now. A plan is on the table in Washington, D.C. to save consumers money and cut pollution by investing in the electrification of our transportation system. And it needs your support to make it happen. [Can you send a quick email to Congress on Earth Day asking your members to back this plan?]( It’s an easy, meaningful way for you to make a real difference for your pocketbook and the environment!  [Take Action](  Reducing tailpipe emissions has to be the focus of tackling our climate crisis and ensuring we have healthy air to breathe. Transportation is the largest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S. And it is also a major source of air pollution that damages our health — millions of Americans, particularly communities of color and lower income communities, suffer from asthma and other respiratory illness due to these emissions. By acting today, we can invest in a cleaner, healthier future. The White House’s infrastructure plan would make it easier for all Americans to afford cleaner, money-saving cars. It would build out the charging and refueling stations needed for electric and alternative vehicles, develop more renewable energy — and create jobs. [Make a real difference this Earth Day. Send a message to your members of Congress to back this plan.]( If they don’t hear from constituents like you, they’ll be hearing from Big Oil lobbyists who want the status quo.  [Take Action](  You can also help out this Earth Day by sharing this action with friends and family, or posting it on your social media. The only way we can improve our climate is to act together, so please help us spread the word!
