[Consumer Reports]   Friend, A key auto safety bill is up in the House of Representatives for a vote this week. With more than 36,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. due to car crashes, it’s clear we need to do more to keep Americans safe on the road. This brand new bill called H.R. 2, the Moving Forward Act, would push car manufacturers to make new safety features as standard as your seat belts and air bags. From automatic emergency braking to blind spot warning, these new safety features would be a massive step forward for safety on the roads. We need as many House members to vote ‘yes’ on the Moving Forward Act as possible to show strong support before this bill heads to the U.S. Senate. That’s why we’re asking for your help today: [Can you send your Representative a quick email asking them to vote ‘yes’ on the Moving Forward Act? Every message helps us build stronger support.]( [Take Action]( Research by Consumer Reports recently found that buyers are often spending thousands of dollars extra to get these lifesaving features in their new cars. But safety features that can save lives and cut overall road deaths in half shouldn’t be treated like luxury items, such as heated steering wheels or premium stereo systems. [Tell your Representative to vote ‘yes’ on the Moving Forward Act. Lives are depending on Congress to take bold action now.]( Thanks for taking the time to act today. After you’re done, please forward our note to family and friends so we can get even more Americans calling on Congress to pass this critical bill.
