It’s time to end these unadvertised, hidden hotel fees that take $2.9 billion a year out of our wallets. Consumer Reports’ ‘What the Fee?!’ campaign is calling for a new law to require hotels to disclose all fees upfront in the room price – and a bill launched TODAY in Congress that will do just that! Hotels competed to have the lowest price, often shifting their costs to add-on fees, which many times aren’t picked up when you comparison shop online. This proliferation of hotel fees has now left consumers struggling to figure out the true cost of a room before making a reservation. And it seems each day we hear about more new fees – from charges for towels to in-room safes. The bipartisan bill just introduced in the House of Representatives would require hotels to include all fees in the advertised price of the room, so you can truly comparison shop and know what you’re getting into before you click ‘Book.’ [Ask your Representative to sign on in support of this common-sense rule that will end these sneaky add-on fees!](  [Send your message »](  After you take action, the next important step is to share this with friends and family so they can contact their Representative.
