The House voted to make sure phone companies offer you FREE tools to help end ‘spoofedâ?

[Consumer Reports]   We just scored a huge win in the fight to end robocalls — and your support helped get us here! The House of Representatives Wednesday overwhelmingly passed tough, anti-robocall legislation that will finally help end the flood of these harassing and costly calls. This has been a long and hard fight, and the House's bipartisan vote is an impressive victory! But our work together isn’t done. Both the House and the Senate now must combine their robocall bills into one final version, and it’s important we stay vigilant so the final law is as strong as possible and isn’t watered down. [Send a message now to your Representative and Senators to make sure the strongest parts of both robocall bills are in the final law. This is the most critical stage of the fight!](  [Take Action](  The House voted to make sure phone companies offer you FREE tools to help end ‘spoofed’ calls – phone calls that mimic your bank, the IRS or even your own number. The bill also makes sure the FCC has the power to close loopholes that robocallers use to avoid getting your permission before calling. Meanwhile, the Senate bill passed earlier this year also takes important steps to address international scam calls and robocall shops outside U.S. borders that have been difficult to shut down. Your message right now will help make sure the strongest parts of both bills make it into the final law. [The devil is in the details when it comes to effectively ending robocalls, so tell your lawmakers you’re watching and want the strongest possible law!](  [Take Action](  Again, thank you so much for getting us to this point in the robocall fight. This is a consumer-powered victory, and we appreciate all that you have done! And one more thing: Please forward this email to friends and family so they can send their own message and join you in ending robocalls!
