More than 135,000 of you signed our petition demanding an end to hidden fees on cable and internet bills – and now momentum is growing to pass legislation in Congress that would do just that. The TRUE Fees Act would require phone, cable and internet companies to include all charges in the advertised price, so consumers know exactly what they’re paying for upfront. And if a company increases or adds fees, customers can cancel a service contract without having to pay those horrible early termination charges. Your outrage helped get this bill introduced. Now, Senators and Representatives are signing on in support. But the telecom companies HATE this legislation – they make hundreds of millions of dollars each year by tacking on fees. [Ask your members of Congress to stand up for consumers and not the telecom industry!
