[Consumer Reports]   More than 115,000 of you signed our petition calling on the big cable companies to stop sneaking fees into the fine print on our bills. Although they have largely ignored our complaints so far, the good news is that, thanks to your activism, lawmakers are starting to take notice of this important pocketbook issue. Last week, a brand new bill called the TRUE Fees Act was just introduced in the House of Representatives. It would require phone, cable, and internet companies to include all charges in the prices they advertise for service. As part of our What the Fee?! campaign, we're working with consumers to expose and eliminate unreasonable costs that hit us every day. This bill is a big step toward fee transparency. Now it’s on us to keep the pressure up -- on the cable companies and our lawmakers -- to solve the problem and eliminate hidden fees altogether. [Can you send a note to your members of Congress in support of this bill to bring more transparency to phone, cable, and internet pricing?](  [Take action »](  After you’ve sent a message, think of three friends or family members and forward this message along. For this pressure campaign to work, we need as many people in on it as we can get. We have a long way to go before a bill like this one can pass through both houses of Congress and get signed by the president. But we’re making progress because people like you are speaking out about these annoying hidden fees. Thanks for everything you do, Kimberly FountainConsumer Reports [Unsubscribe from Consumer Reports action alerts.]( © 2018 Consumer Reports, 101 Truman Avenue, Yonkers, NY, 10703 [Contact Consumer Reports](
