Conservative Underground --------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Fellow

Conservative Underground --------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Fellow Patriot, Imagine the pit in your stomach to learn that Barack Obama was coming back for more, seeking a third term as President of the United States. Left-wing radicals and media elites would declare the Trump presidency over and demand that the Deep State forcibly remove him from office so Barack Obama isn’t bothered with the trouble of having to campaign again! Fortunately, that won’t happen. The Constitution’s XXII Amendment bars presidents from being elected more than twice – and for good reason too. Just consider the out-of-touch politicians like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) who are stonewalling President Trump’s agenda today! These career politicians don’t care what the American people want. They’re servants of “The Swamp” – not you and me. And if you and I are ever going to succeed in draining “The Swamp,” America MUST take back Washington, D.C. from the career politicians! If you agree, [please click here to sign your “PASS TERM LIMITS NOW!” petition to your U.S. Representatives and Senators immediately](. And if you can, please agree to your most generous contribution of $10, $25, $50, or $100 to help FreedomWorks get the job done! The truth is, there’s not another fight Big Government liberals in Congress fear more. According to a recent McLaughlin poll, 82% of the American people want to see term limits enacted. That should be no surprise. The truth is, career politicians are failing America by every measure, whether it’s: *** Drowning Americans in debt. Tax revenue is at record highs, but Congress continually refuses to even try to balance the federal budget; *** Refusing to lift a finger to fix our broken immigration system; *** Launching endless gotcha investigations into the Trump White House; *** Defending rogue “Deep State” actors who abuse their power to play politics; *** Backing tax-and-spend boondoggles like a national healthcare takeover, and the “Green New Deal.” That’s because we have politicians who care more about pleasing “The Swamp” – and the lobbyists, media, bureaucrats, and political consultants – than you and me. Just consider the audacity of some members of Congress to demand the American people give them a raise! Our Founders never intended for Congress to become a career choice. Our Founders wanted citizen legislators – men and women who had to live, work, and pay taxes in the real world . . . Not boss the rest of us around while they grow more and more out of touch every year. Thomas Jefferson even stated the omission of term limits in the Constitution was his biggest problem with the document. That’s why FreedomWorks wholeheartedly supports the Congressional Term Limits Amendment (S.J. Res. 1/H.J. Res. 20) as introduced by U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and U.S. Rep. Francis Rooney (R-FL). Under this constitutional amendment, U.S. Representatives would be limited to three terms. Senators would be limited to two. So will career politicians in Congress really vote to pass legislation that would send them home? Not if they think they have a choice! They’d much rather just sweep S.J. Res. 1/H.J. Res. 20 under the rug and hope it’s forgotten about! [But if you and I FORCE them to vote on it, it could be a different story – especially with 2020 right around the corner and President Trump in full support](. With eight out of ten Americans in support of term limits, politicians who vote against S.J. Res. 1/H.J. Res. 20 could find there’s a BIG price to pay at the ballot box in 2020! If we force them to vote on term limits, we’ll either get their votes now – or we’ll have their seats in the next election! That’s why – if you and I can create a big enough firestorm – it could turn into the Big Government liberals’ worst nightmare. With your help, FreedomWorks is prepared to do just that. In fact, with your generous support, FreedomWorks has a three-part plan to force the term limits issue to the national forefront, including; Contacting up to 12 million conservatives from all over the country via mail, email, and phones to mobilize them to this fight; Deploying key FreedomWorks allies like Steve Moore and The Rev. C.L. Bryant to work the talk radio shows and TV news shows to advocate for term limits; Launching a hard-hitting Internet, radio, newspaper, and TV ad blitz to “encourage” Congress to vote to pass the Congressional Term Limits Amendment. Yes, career politicians – those in BOTH parties – are going to hate this effort. But FreedomWorks has never buddied up to Big Government status quo politicians. Instead, we’re fighting each and every day to take back Washington, D.C. from “The Swamp” and return it to the American people. We need more citizen-statesmen in Congress who want the same thing. But “The Swamp” isn’t going to give up without a fight. You and I are going to have to take our country back from them.
