It was designed to dig into the psyche of the first anti-colonial president of the United States and to paint ature of what a post-Obama nation might look like should he be reelected. In hindsight, much of what D'Sousa predicted was accurate. And for his work, he was persecuted by the Obama DOJ with criminal charges of election donation violations. Though D'Sousa pleaded guilty, these were infractions for which nearly anyone else would have received a slap on the wrist and a fine. This was clearly an act of political retribution. But all that will be wiped away this week after President Trump announced he's giving a full pardon to D'Sousa. So why did the liberals on the court not agree to hear a case that would restrict abortion? It's entirely likely that they see the writing on the wall: Justice Kennedy may not be around much longer to join them as the swing vote for a 5-4 decision in favor of abortion, as he has in the past. If that interpretation is correct, then Kennedy would need to retire in the next 90 days or so in order for President Trump to get another conservative confirmed by the GOP Senate.
