--------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Common Dreamer, We all know wha

--------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Common Dreamer, We all know what is coming. And it's not normal. Next month when Donald Trump is sworn in as President of the United States, a dark, new political world will be sanctioned.  It's unlike anything that we have ever seen before.  Unprecedented. Unimaginable. And, unacceptable It's already clear that everything that you and I value will be under siege. The corporate media will continue to feed us an endless stream of incendiary rants, tweets that spread lies, and fake news stories.  All orchestrated to be distractions.   Meanwhile, Trump and his ideologically driven Cabinet made up of generals, billionaires and right-wing extremists will try to privatize our public schools, dismantle Medicare, roll back environmental regulations, ignore climate change, deregulate Wall Street and deny workers a decent wage.  Attacks on people of color will increase, religious persecution will escalate, and women’s rights will be crushed. We refuse to accept this. We refuse to let this become normal. Clearly, the corporate media will not hold Trump accountable. During the campaign they enabled Trump's candidacy.  And now they will try to normalize his presidency, normalize the outrageous, normalize the ugliness. We can't let that happen. We know what is needed—a powerful, unprecedented resistance.   Independent media, like Common Dreams, will be essential to helping build this resistance. Never has it been more important to support independent media. [Will you stand with us now and make a contribution to Common Dreams?] Today, we are kicking-off our end of the year fundraising campaign.  It's been a long, hard year. This campaign is critical to our survival. With your help, we will continue to bring you the news that matters. And with your help, we will help to build a community of resistance. Thank you.
