Today, I am running for Congress to hold GOP leadership accountable and finally put our communities first. For the past year and a half my hospital has been filled with COVID patients. I have seen children lose their parents, and parents lose their children. As I write this, news just broke that 1 in 500 Americans have died from the COVID pandemic. While my colleagues pulled double shifts to care for all the patients with failing lungs, my opponent Congressman Tom McClintock was encouraging people to go maskless. McClintock has repeatedly spread false medical information and made a joke of COVID while representing California on the floor of Congress. He has worn masks that say “THIS MASK IS USELESS” and “THIS MASK IS AS USELESS AS OUR GOVERNOR.” So I’m running against him. As a doctor, I cannot stand by and allow McClintock to spread lies that are literally contributing to our death toll.
