If you’d like to unsubscribe, [click here.]( # Kristen Clarke is Confirmed # The Collective PAC is proud to congratulate and celebrate Kristen Clarke on her historic confirmation as the first Black woman to serve as the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights in the U.S. Department of Justice. Kristen will work to vigorously defend the civil rights of historically underrepresented communities and the constitutional rights of all Americans; especially the most vulnerable members of our society. The Collective is proud to have led and supported various advocacy efforts calling upon the U.S. Senate to confirm Kristen Clarke. While we celebrate her historic achievement, it is not lost on us that her confirmation occurred on the one year anniversary of the murder of George Floyd. The Collective PAC has renewed our demand for the Senate to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act to advance meaningful police reform legislation and build trust between law enforcement and Black communities. The Collective Endorsed Candidates # # The Collective PAC would like to congratulate all of our endorsed candidates on their primary wins. In May, Lima, OH and Pittsburgh, PA came one step closer to making history by electing Sharetta Smith and Ed Gainey to move to the general elections in November. If they win Sharetta Smith will become the first Black woman elected to be mayor of Lima and Ed Gainey will become the first Black mayor of Pittsburgh. We would also like to congratulate Sändra Washington of Lincoln, NE, Tierra D. Williams of Ferguson Township, PA and seven of our “Justice For All” candidates Judge Lori Dumas, Judge Timika Lane, Mark Lomax, Tinu Moss, Maraleen Shields, Tiffany Thomas-Smith and Greg Yorgey-Girdy throughout Pennsylvania. In June, Jared Williams flipped his solid red district in the City of Ft. Worth, TX to become their newest councilman. In Virginia, eight of our endorsed candidates won their House of Delegates primary elections, congratulations to Candi King, Debra Gardner, Joshua G. Cole, Michelle Maldonado, Briana Sewell, Lashrecse Aird, Alex Askew and Rev. Linwood Blizzard. The Collective Endorses Val Demings # The Collective PAC is thrilled to endorse Congresswoman Val Demings from Florida for the United States Senate, marking our second Senate endorsement of the 2021-2022 election cycle. Electing a Black woman to the U.S. Senate this cycle is a top organizational priority and we are proud to stand with Val Demings — a dedicated public servant who has spent her career on the front lines improving communities and protecting Floridians.
