As a former voting rights lawyer, the impact of Dr. King’s work and that of other civil rights leaders cannot be overstated. That’s why it’s critical we fight to protect our democracy against those who want to destroy it. As we reflect on Dr. King’s legacy, I am reminded of the role each of us must play in bending the moral arc of the universe more towards justice. Each of us must be a good citizen of our democracy.
