After each period, smack the 'return' button. Yes, like this. Precisely as I am doing now. By providing each sentence with a bit more room to breath and spread out, you're better able to consider its length, stature and shape both on its own and in contrast to its neighboring sentences. Think about your sentences like homes and your prose like a neighborhood comprised of many homes. The prettiest neighborhoods aren't a cookie cutter suburbia but instead a hodgepodge of unique houses that vary greatly in size, look and feel. Prose is no different. This is a gentle reminder to celebrate variation in art and in life. By [Cole Schafer](=)â P.S. Keep scrolling, there's more where this came from. P.P.S. Thompson... "I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me." I disagree with Thompson in regards to violence and insanity. You should avoid those at all costs. However, I will piggy back on drugs and alcohol (when enjoyed responsibly and in moderation). â[Schedule35]() is a trusted psilocybin brand making micro-dosing safe and seamless for writers, artists and entrepreneurs looking to unleash their creativity. --------------------------------------------------------------- Morning page #1 Your sense of control is nothing more than paper mâché â We try everything. We take our vitamins. We say our prayers. We get our palms read. We check our horoscopes. We read self-help. We exhaust ourselves in a desperate attempt to control what happens to us, white-knuckling our lives until we've squeezed every ounce of joy from them. With time, we realize our false sense of control is nothing more than paper mâché. It's here where we redirect our energy towards something we can control: our perception. We realize our energy is far better spent not so much controlling what happens to us but instead controlling how we choose to feel about what happens to us. This is the tremendous magic in being human. We have complete governance over our perception. We can't control the thing but we can control the meaning of the thing. [Let go or be dragged](
--------------------------------------------------------------- "A genius is..." 'Only' is better than 'Great' â Thelonious Monk was an African American pianist and composer lauded for his ingenuity and uncanny ability to improvise. Monk's definition of genius is one worth writing down... "A genius is the one most like himself." When you find yourself falling victim to comparison, pause and remember creative genius is achieved not through competition but originality. [Share this lesson](=)
