In a letter addressed to Judge Lewis Kaplan, the U.S. Department of Justice revealed that SBF reached out to the current general counsel of FTX US via email and Signal. Part of SBF's message said: "I would really love to reconnect and see if there’s a way for us to have a constructive relationship, use each other as resources when possible, or at least vet things with each other." Prosecutors say this is problematic because Bankman-Fried could end up communicating with people who will later be called upon to give evidence in a trial. SBF's lawyer has denied his client is witness tampering. [Big payday for law firm representing FTX?]( A law firm that's playing an instrumental role in the FTX bankruptcy is set to make millions during the restructuring process, according to Bloomberg Law. The report says Sullivan & Cromwell has more than 150 people working on the case — and 30 of them charge over $2,000 per hour. Associates are paid a minimum of $810 per hour. Experts believe the total bill could extend into many hundreds of millions of dollars, eating into the funds that FTX customers will receive. Speaking to the news outlet, Temple University law professor Jonathan Lipson put it this way: "The important question is never are the lawyers charging a lot — it's 'is it worth it?' If they can recover a lot of money, then it's probably worth it." [Man jailed for stealing $2.5m worth of IOTA]( 🚨 A man has been jailed after stealing more than $2.5 million worth of IOTA tokens from unsuspecting investors. Wybo Wiersma, a Dutchman living in the United Kingdom, had established a website called iotaseed.io, which apparently allowed people to generate a secure seed phrase. But a five-year investigation found these seed phrases were not chosen at random — and because they were predetermined, users soon saw IOTA stolen from their accounts. More than 100 victims have been identified, with some losing their life savings, businesses and inheritances. In Oxford Crown Court, he was sentenced to four-and-a-half years behind bars. Efforts are now underway to recover the stolen IOTA and return it to the rightful owners. Thanks for reading! Have a great day — more news tomorrow!
