A pretty bad dip at the wrong time. This Week's Top Stories Check out [CoinMarketCap Alexandria]( for tech deep dives, analysis, daily news and easy-to-understand guides on how crypto works! ICYMI: Your summary of the week in crypto Happy Sunday! Here’s a look back at the crypto stories you may have missed over the past seven days. The Tornado Cash fallout continues to pour in. After the arrest of developer Alexey Pertsev, his wife said that she hadn’t had contact with her husband in a week. She was concerned about his treatment “as if he were a dangerous criminal.” The crypto rally peaked at the start of the week, with Ethereum briefly sticking its head above $2,000. However, renewed fears over a hawkish Fed (haven’t we heard that before?) beat ETH back down to the $1,600s. Bitcoin, which has had a rather sluggish rally, is clinging onto $21,000 and will have some defending to do next week to not slide below $20K again. Celsius is still in trouble, or, to put it better, in even bigger trouble. A report revealed that Celsius only has liquidity until the end of October. U.S. authorities asked for an independent examiner to look into the bankruptcy case over fears about financial transparency. Five things we learned this week 1. [Meta launches Horizon Worlds with a hideous screenshot](. Meta’s metaverse Horizon Worlds launched in France and Spain with a very plain-looking screenshot that drew ridicule from the tech and crypto crowd on Twitter. 2. [The ECB continues to push for a CBDC](. The European Central Bank really likes CBDCs and has made it abundantly clear that it wants to push one. Last week marked the release of the second working paper in short succession to argue for the introduction of a CBDC. 3. [BTC and ETH dump](. The biggest day of liquidations since the cascading liquidations in June. Over $400 million in longs were liquidated as the bear market rally may have ended already. 4. [The Celsius case may get an independent examiner](. The CeFi lender only has liquidity until the end of October and may receive an independent examiner similar to the bankruptcy case of Lehman Brothers. 5. [Mercado Libre launches a cryptocurrency](. Crypto adoption in Latin America marches on, as Mercado Libre, the Amazon of Latin America, launched its own cryptocurrency. It will be rolled out to 500K customers first and will be available to all 80 million Mercado Libre customers in Brazil till the end of the month. The week ahead Here are just a few burning questions: — Will Celsius come out with more bad news? — Can Bitcoin stop the bleeding, or is a slide back below $20K coming? — What’s going on with the arrested Tornado developer?
