Is the worst over for Bitcoin? ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ This Week's Top Stories Check out [CoinMarketCap Alexandria]( for tech deep dives, analysis, daily news and easy-to-understand guides on how crypto works! ICYMI: Your summary of the week in crypto Happy Sunday! Here’s a look back at the crypto stories you may have missed over the past seven days. Bitcoin has been dusting itself off after a panicked start to the week. Prices fell to $33,000 on Monday as sell-offs hit global markets. The world's biggest cryptocurrency is closely correlated to the stock market right now. This meant that, when the S&P 500 bounced back as Monday drew to a close, so did Bitcoin. All eyes were on the Federal Reserve on Wednesday, with Jerome Powell confirming that interest rate rises are highly likely in March. BTC has raced to $39,000 ahead of this announcement, and then started to fall. Looking ahead, $30,000 is a crucial line in the sand for Bitcoin — it's a level that was successfully defended last summer. You could argue that BTC is in a perilous position right now. It's already fallen 40% from all-time highs, while the S&P 500 isn't even in correction territory yet. Further declines on Wall Street could end up proving calamitous for the crypto market. Five things we learned this week 1. [Coinbase has been accused of profiting from the cryptocurrencies it lists.]( An in-depth report by the Financial Times claims that the exchange has unveiled support for at least 20 cryptocurrencies, all while holding an investment in a related project. 2. [Robinhood is unlikely to list SHIBA INU any time soon.]( The trading platform's CEO, Vlad Tenev, is treading cautiously because it's worried about adding unregistered securities that could cause trouble with the SEC. 3. [Crypto can make you more attractive… apparently.]( A tongue-in-cheek survey from eToro suggests that 33% of Americans would actually be more likely to go on a date with someone who mentions cryptocurrencies in their dating profile. Funnily enough, it doesn't mention how many people would be less likely. 4. [ARK Invest is still really bullish on Bitcoin.]( The investment management firm thinks 1 BTC could be worth $1.36 million by 2030. 5. [Ethereum 2.0 is dead… kinda.]( The Ethereum Foundation wants us to stop using the phrase "Ethereum 2.0," and refer to it as the "consensus layer" instead. The week ahead Here are just a few burning questions: — Will Bitcoin manage to retake $40,000? — Will the correlation between BTC and stocks continue? — Any more details on Joe Biden's plans to introduce crypto rules as a matter of national security?
